Patterns Designed By Barbara Gilbert

Barbara designed her first basket "The Original Cabin Boy" in 1994. Other designs soon followed such as "The Cabin Girl, "The Weaver's Workmate", "The Peanut Basket" and "The Plant Stand".

Her husband Bill produced the bases and were distributed exclusively by NC Basket Works.

After Barbara passed away in April 2002, Bill gave us the rights to her patterns and base designs, in hopes of keeping her legacy alive.

These complimentary patterns are designed and written for basketmakers. They may be reprinted, for use in making baskets and in teaching others to make baskets, provided our name and address is left on the pattern.
