Cut 24 spokes from 1/2" FF each 7" long. Insert all spokes (smooth side down) into the base, spacing them evenly. If you plan to glue in your spokes, dry fit each spoke, then remove one at a time and glue it in. If the groove in your base is too narrow to insert the spoke, run sand paper around the slot several times and/or sand down the end of each spoke.

Twine 4 times around the base with #2R keeping the spokes flat, then gently upset the spokes and twine for another 4 times (total 8 times).

Weave 12 rows start and stop with 11/64" FO and 1 rim row of 3/8" FF. Pack well, cut and tuck spokes in the usual manner. Rim with 1/2" FO outside, 1/2" FF inside, seagrass between rims and lash with 11/64" FO. Stain your basket with Weaver's Stain and let dry before decorating.

Decorating Your Basket:

Cut a piece of florist styrafoam to fit your basket. Cut a small hole (about 1" diameter) in the center of the styrofoam. Insert the candle up through the hole - the bottom base of the candle will be sitting on the wood base. Decorate as desired.
